April 2009

On the 2nd I made a short visit to River Greenwater at the site of Duchal Castle to photograph the waterfalls. The water levels where rather low with some great water movement. With the potential for a good sunset I set off to eastern shore of Loch Lomond however the sunset fizzled out.

A busy couple of weeks limited my photography with only a few brief stops at the Dams to Darnley Country Park after work. On the 16th I visited the Glasgow Botanical Gardens to photograph the flowers in the Kibble Palace and gardens, on the way back i stopped in Paisley to photography the Cherry trees around the Town Centre.

The 18th saw another trip to the River Greenwater at Duchal Castle before heading to the Knapps Loch for the sunset.

An evening visit on the 19th to the Dams to Darnley Country Park resulted in disaster when I broke my 70-300mm lens when I slipped while climbing down to the bottom of the largest waterfall.

On the 22nd I took the train over to Edinburgh to photograph some cityscapes and Scottish Parliament, outside the parliament was Earth Day rally which provided a few good photographic opportunities.

On 29th April I made a day trip to Dublin, I departed Prestwick International Airport on the early morning Ryanair flight to Dublin and unlike my Budapest trip the weather was great. The first stop of the day was the Phoenix Park and Dublin Zoo.

I walked back to the city centre, along the banks of the River Liffey, spending much of my time photographing the reflections in the river, the colourful doors of Dublin, the city centre and city parks before returning to the Airport for the last Ryanair flight back to Prestwick.
