August 2008

August saw visit to Loch Lomond,SECC & Glasgow ARC, Knapp’s Loch and three visits to Duchal Castle before a heading south to Yorkshire to see my folk’s. While in Yorkshire I made trips to the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Spurn Point National Nature Reserve and Hull.

I head to Millarochy Bay, Loch Lomond on the 4th and spent most of the early evening walking along the west highland way hoping for a good sunset which did not happen.

On the 11th I made the first of three visits to River Green water at Duchal Castle near Kilmacolm. With very heavy rain all day the early evening so the skies clearing creating some lovely side light and the waterfalls where in full flow.

In mid August I head to Yorkshire to see my folks for a few days, however disaster happen on the first day at Goathland in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park when I dropped my camera bag at breaking the aperture ring of my 18-135 lens.

On the 17th I visit a favourite place of my Spurn Point, despite having worked here for several summers when I was younger; it’s a place I had never photographed before. I spent most of the time around the lighthouses and got some great results with the sigma 10-20 lens I had just purchased.

The 19th saw the last summer outing of my local camera club with a trip to the SECC / Glasgow Arc area of the River Clyde.

The 21st and 24th saw visits to River Green water at Duchal Castle near Kilmacolm to photograph the waterfalls.

With potential for a good sunset I headed to Knapps Loch, Kilmacolm on the 31st
